Teressa Carter, LCSW
I have a master’s level education in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I am a LCSW fully licensed in North Carolina and Arkansas. I also have completed education and training at Walter Reed Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland and received certification in Integrated Behavioral Health.
I specialize in individual, family therapy, and trauma-focused counseling. I utilize Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy techniques and concepts to help individuals and families strengthen their personal resiliency, overcome traumas, and assist them in identifying and achieving personal and professional success.
I have been practicing counseling since 2011. I have also been privileged to work with all branches of the United States military as an embedded Military and Family Life Counselor since 2013. I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland and currently live in Texas. My professional work with the military has allowed me to travel and practice in multiple states and provide expert consultation to various agencies.
Outside of private practice, I have worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor for inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and behavioral facilities, as well as, military installations. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns. I am a humanistic, person-centered therapist who believes that individuals hold the key to unlock their own happiness and I am happy to help find that key!
